Christopher Kirby as “Sir Thomas More” in Shakespeare Republic, Season Two, “Richard II” in Shakespeare Republic: #AllTheWebsAStage (The Lockdown Chronicles) and “Benedick” in Speaking Daggers
Known to international audiences as “Mauser” from The Matrix trilogy of films, Chris began his career in his native USA before moving to Australia and has a long list of varied Film and TV roles to his name, both here and in America.
Television roles include Quantum Leap, Space: Above and Beyond, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Population 11, Apples Never Fall, Preacher, The Lost World, BeastMaster, The Burning Zone, Wolf Creek, Nightmares & Dreamscapes, Miss Fisher’s Modern Mysteries, The Starter Wife, Marshall Law, NCIS: Sydney, Neighbours, Ocean Girl, Flipper and The Games.
Chris’ film credits include Queen of the Damned, Crackerjack, Visitors, Predestination, Strange Bedfellows, Macbeth, Daybreakers, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Mao’s Last Dancer, Dora and the Lost City of Gold and the cult classic Iron Sky. His career in screen has seen him playing opposite actors such as Ethan Hawke, Natalie Portman, Keanu Reeves, Stuart Townsend, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Lucy Lawless, John Jarret, Eva Longoria, Temuera Morrison, Michael Caton and Paul Hogan, to name but a few.
Theatre roles include The Speechmaker for Melbourne Theatre Company, This is How it Goes, Lobby Hero and the critically acclaimed The Meeting playing “Malcolm X” for Red Stitch Theatre, Transit for La Mama Theatre, The Sapphires for Company B, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Twelfth Night and the WW2 touring drama production Boundary Road.
Chris was most recently seen on the big screen in the AACTA Nominated and Saturn Award winning feature film Late Night with the Devil with David Dastmalchian and on the small screen in Good Cop/Bad Cop with Clancy Brown. He will next appear on the big screen in War Machine with Alan Ritchson and Dennis Quaid.

Shakespeare Republic audiences will remember Chris from his powerful, award-winning work as “Sir Thomas More” in Shakespeare Republic Season Two, for which he won Best Male Lead In A Web Series at the 2017 Austin WebFest, Best Actor in a Drama at the 2017 Baltimore New Media WebFest, Best Actor at the 2018 Lit On Film Festival (USA) and Best Male Actor at the 2019 Sydney WebFest in Australia.
He returned to the series to play “Richard II” in Shakespeare Republic: #AllTheWebsAStage (The Lockdown Chronicles), a performance that was awarded alongside the rest of our amazing cast for that season with Best Ensemble (International Narrative) at the 2021 New Zealand WebFest, Best Ensemble Cast (Drama) at the 2021 British Web Awards, Best Ensemble Performance at the 2022 London Web Fest in the UK and nominated for Best Ensemble Performance (Drama) at the 2022 International Academy of Web Television Awards in the USA.
Chris also played the role of “Benedick” in the award-winning short film spin off from Shakespeare Republic – Speaking Daggers, which made it’s film festival debut at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust’s Shakespeare Film Festival in Stratford-upon-Avon, UK, where the film received a Highly Commended Finalist Award, as awarded by the jury, headed by Jury President, Sir Kenneth Branagh.
